A group of social workers founded the non-profit voluntary Child Care Organization in 1993 with the goal of focusing on and envisioning a society in which everyone has access to equal opportunities for development and can live with dignity and equality in a better environment, free from discrimination on the basis of caste, color, creed, gender, or any other form of segregation. Realizing that only through their combined efforts and action could rural areas and their inhabitants experience sustainable development served as the impetus for such a gathering and the founding of CCO. Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) often run child-focused programs to address the needs of children in areas such as education, health, nutrition, protection, and overall well-being. These programs vary widely depending on the mission of the NGO, the needs of the community, and available resources.
